| Anna Campbell has known she wanted to act since she was six and she used to put on plays in the living room at her home in Portland, Oregon. The summer after her junior year of high school, she was able to attend the Yale Summer Drama program, where she was convinced that there was a world of acting to study. Although she hadnít thought of anything else she wanted to do besides act, when it came time to further her education after high school, she didnít want to limit her choices by attending a conservatory. Anna was fortunate to be able to attend her first choice school, Vassar College. She chose Vassar for their strong theater program, but also so that she could have the option of another major. She immediately became involved in many theater organizations there, including Philalatheis, the student theater organization, and the Shakespeare Troupe which put on one of the bardís plays a year. She did musicals (including Sondheimís Company), Greek tragedies (Wertenbakerís Love of the Nightengale and a modern adaptation of Orestes by Charles Mee Junior, where she was challenged to play a sexually abused war victim), Shakespeare (Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Henry IV, part I as Hotspur, King Lear as Goneril, and A Winterís Tale as Paulina) as well as modern and original plays (including Marberís Closer as none other than Anna). In her Junior year, she was fortunate to be able to travel to London for the British American Dramatic Academy program where in addition to scene study classes, she took voice, stage combat, movement, improvisation, and theater history classes. She saw over thirty plays in the three months that she was there which wet her appetite to make the transition into professional theatre. Her first experience with a professional company came during her time at Vassar. For two of her summers while she was at Vassar, Anna was involved with New York Stage and Film, attending first as an apprentice, and then as a hired member of the company, performing plays and teaching classes. Anna was happy to conclude her time at Vassar with a self translated production of Jean Genetís ìthe Maidsî as Solange, one of the two deranged and murderous sisters. In her final time at Vassar, she also returned to the medium of film when she took an ìActing for the Cameraî class. She concluded that despite all the theatre she had done, she was also very excited by film, and made the decision to move to Los Angeles where she could easily pursue both mediums. The move also returned her to the West Coast, which kept her nearer her family in Oregon. After moving to Los Angeles, she has become involved with several different projects, including Boy in the Box, another chance to try a new genre. Anna couldnít have gotten this far without the support of her family and friends, and thanks them for their undying support of her work. She thanks her mentors, Dennis Reid, Bobby Shriver, Kerrie Keane, and especially Erin Gray.
